Pastor Tim Tucker
Tim Tucker, Lead Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Ludington, entered into the presence of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Tuesday morning, July 28. Tim had suffered a major stroke on July 19.
Tim was born in Sandusky, Ohio, on June 1, 1957. He came to know the Lord as His personal Savior when he was seven years old. Soon after that, the Lord laid upon his heart a desire to serve in Africa as a missionary. Throughout his childhood this passion only grew. He married the love of his life, Lorna, in 1980 and graduated from Western Baptist College the following year with a degree in missions.
Tim and Lorna, along with their newborn daughter, went to Togo West Africa as full-time missionaries in 1987. They served there for the next ten years. Thereafter to present, Tim served as the senior pastor of five churches, including the past four years at Calvary Baptist Church in Ludington, Michigan. Throughout his entire ministry his heart’s desire was that the people he served would know and walk with the Savior he loved.
Tim and Lorna, were married for 40 years and have three adult children (Alicia, Andrew, and Peter) and two grandchildren (Max and Luke). Tim is also survived by his parents, Max and Phyllis, and his brother, Keith.
A service of praise and thanksgiving for God’s work of grace in Tim’s life was held at Calvary Baptist Church in Ludington, Michigan, on Monday evening, August 3.
A graveside committal service was held in Lancaster, Ohio, on Saturday, August 8.
