MARBC News & Notes – December 2007

CASS CITY, First Baptist Church (Pastor Eric Holmgren) – “125 Years of Holding Forth the Word of Truth” was the theme of the annual missions conference held November 3-5. The conference began with a delicious dinner followed by a power point presentation on the history of the church. A long list of names was read of members who have gone out to be pastors, pastors wives, youth workers, missionaries, and other Christian workers. The church has a rich heritage of sending forth laborers into the field. Missionaries Jeremy and Jodi Smith (CBM), Patrick and Ruth Neff (Friends of Israel), and Ben and Dani Jacobs (BMM) challenged the congregation to be a light in their community, to reach out to the Jew, and to put force to their faith (move out for Christ). Those attending the conference were richly blessed by the testimonies of the missionaries and the preaching of the Word.

MUNISING, Munising Baptist Church (Pastor Jason LaFlamme) recently helped one of their missionaries, Dan and Jean French (Continental Baptist Missions), with a missions project. Pastor Jason LaFlamme and eight members of the congregation traveled to Rockford Baptist Church, Rockford, MN, for four days to assist with a church make-over. They hung drywall, painted, poured a new concrete sidewalk to the entrance of the church, put a suspended ceiling in the bathroom, assembled a new steeple that is illuminated at night and completed several other odd jobs around the church. The Rockford church family so appreciated the excellent teamwork, servant hearts, sense of humor and sacrificial service for the Lord. Interestingly, Pastor Dan French was a member of the Munising Baptist Church as a young boy when his father, Russell French, was the missionary pastor there. Now this church is helping another missionary church. Praise the Lord!

HESPERIA. Hesperia Baptist Church (Pastor Tom Cooper) – is praising God for 206 in attendance at their evangelistic Friends and Family Day. Four people made salvation decisions for Christ!
