“Refreshed”

Living up to this famous marketing slogan, “The pause that refreshes,” Coca-Cola has sold billions of bottles of its world famous beverage to thirsty customers seeking a momentary sense of refreshment.  In a similar way, the goal of this year’s MARBC Annual Conference is to offer a “spiritual pause that joyfully refreshes” the wearied souls of God’s servants.   [Read more…]

CHEBOYGAN, Faith Baptist Church (Jim Currie, Pastor) – Faith Baptist Church recently held a commissioning service for Dr. Eric and Melissa Miller.  The Millers, along with their children Samuel and Elizabeth, were commissioned for medical missionary service in Togo, Africa.  They will be serving with other missionaries from the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE).  Eric has served for several years as a surgeon and in his new role will minister at the Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital in Tsiko, Togo.  Pastor Jim Currie, the senior pastor at Faith Baptist, shared the commissioning message.  Rev. Talents for Christ 2011 Information Packet

Talents for ChristDear Pastor, Youth Pastor, or Youth Sponsor,

Attached is information regarding our State Talents for Christ competition. Click here to download the information packet PDF. I encourage you to check out the GARBC Talents for Christ website for full details of competition categories, rules, etc.. Also, the GARBC home office has a promotional CD that you can request if interested. The CD will provide you with a lot of helpful tips on promoting TFC with your youth, including a promo video.

Over the past few years, the main change in TFC is the addition of the TFC Open Competition, which allows students to participate who may not compete in the scholarship competition since they are not attending one of the participating colleges. To add incentive to participate in the open category, Lake Ann Camp, Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp and The Springs are all offering scholarships to the State 1st and 2nd place winners. Also, those who have won at the national level in a previous year may compete in a different category in the Open competition.

Included in this information are a couple of pages that you can print and post for your teens to promote the State competition, as well as the registration forms needed to register by March 1st for individual and group open categories. Please make copies for the students and groups to register with. Those who place in the Open Categories who decide to compete at the national GARBC Conference will register for the national competition after the State competition on the GARBC Talents for Christ website (additional fees will apply).

Those participating in the scholarship categories register one time online at the GARBC Talents for Christ website.

Please feel free to Email me.

Equipping Students Through Service,
Ken Pyne, MARBC TFC Director

Remember the Deadline to Register is March 1st
